Meet Nathalie Klockaerts!

"As a child of divorced parents, I've been through quite a lot, but I believe everything happens for a reason. I am an incredibly positive person, which I consider to be my greatest strength," says Nathalie. Due to her immense passion for fashion, she had been dreaming of her own label for years. "Three years ago, when I was diagnosed with leukemia, I realized I wasn't doing what I truly wanted to do. It was time to fully pursue my dreams, and that's how SKÓN SUITS came to be," she says. Nathalie designed the initial patterns in the hospital during her chemotherapy treatments. "So, the first suits took shape during the most challenging period of my life," Nathalie explains.

Powersuits

"I chose to start my own business because I felt I had to pursue my dream. My mission is to make suits fun and exciting again. With a good suit, you can go in any direction. A power suit should give you the strength to do anything you want," says Nathalie.

She finds the most inspiration from talking to other entrepreneurs in the fashion industry. "I see fashion as a way to express yourself. A unique clothing style says so much about people and how they feel," she says.

"As I get older, I find myself gaining more peace and self-confidence. In the past, I used to worry a lot about what others thought of me. Now I can let go of that feeling. This year, I'm noticing growth both personally and as an entrepreneur. This growth has come organically; some things shouldn't be forced. I've realised that everything will work out and that patience is necessary to achieve your goals," says Nathalie.

The most beautiful & challenging aspects of entrepreneurship

"The best part about entrepreneurship is that I can turn my passion into my job," says Nathalie. "I wake up every day with a smile. Of course, sometimes there are tears too, but that's what makes it beautiful. I would encourage everyone to do something they love."

"The most difficult part for me, on the other hand, is letting go of things. I'm a huge perfectionist. That can be a strength, but also a pitfall," she says. Some aspects, like production, are not entirely in her control. "I have to be able to let go of that and continue to believe in my vision and passion," Nathalie explains.
