Meet Laurence Delvallez!

Laurence Delvallez is the founder of a jewellery brand that designs unique and exclusive pieces made and finished in Belgium.

"I graduated as a Master in Jewel Design from Sint Lucas in Antwerp. After a few years of additional studies, I joined my mother's company," Laurence explains. It was a few years later that she connected with the owner of a jewellery workshop in Paris. "She asked me to collaborate, and that's how I started designing jewellery made in her workshop. Ten years ago, I decided to establish my own workshop in Belgium. This allowed me to have more control over quality and provide better service to my clients," she says.

Harmony

"It has always fascinated me how women use accessories, makeup, and fashion to express themselves," says Laurence. This interest naturally led her into entrepreneurship. "Today, my mission is to make as many women feel good and beautiful as possible. With our jewellery, we serve women. Not necessarily from a feminist standpoint, but purely because I identify best with women who want to feel feminine, strong, and beautiful," she explains clearly.

"For me, teamwork is about creating energy and moving forward together. Once you're in motion, progress happens very quickly," Laurence explains. This also means that sometimes teamwork can have the opposite effect. If the energy isn't there, it can be discouraging, but those challenges are necessary too. "I find both the entire journey and the purpose of entrepreneurship incredibly enjoyable," she says.

"Discovering new things gives me a lot of inspiration. New artworks, cities, people, and shapes can suddenly ignite my sense of wonder and bring me to a certain energy. At those moments, I am very alert and consciously absorb things. It gives me a kind of energy boost and then I start creating," Laurence explains.

The most beautiful and challenging aspects of entrepreneurship

"The best part of entrepreneurship is that I get to work with my passion every day. I am fortunate to do this with a team that shares the same passion as me. Working towards something together is what I love about entrepreneurship," says Laurence.

"The most challenging aspect for me is having to make decisions on my own at the end of the day. It can be very lonely. There's also never a real 'off' switch when you have a business," she explains. In the fashion sector, you start each season with a whole new business, so everything resets from scratch. You always have to keep going.

Better Together

"I am incredibly happy to be part of the Generation WOW Community. It's great to see that two women have founded such a strong community - a community of women who inspire and support each other. 'Better Together' is also an important aspect. Achieving something together not only makes it much better, but also much more enjoyable," Laurence proudly shares.
