Meet Eva Faict
Country Manager Belgium bij Amazon tells WOW about her entrepreneurial story.
"I studied Economics at KU Leuven, on their campus in Brussels. In 2011, I started my consulting career in that same city. From there, I went to work at the headquarters of Amazon in London before moving to Luxembourg. When I worked at Amazon, I always thought about how great it would be to bring Amazon to my home country. After many years of working abroad, I got the chance to make that dream come true and returned to Belgium in 2022 to launch Amazon.com.be," Eva says. "Today, I live a busy but rural life in an old farmhouse in the Ardennes with my husband and 4-year-old daughter."
Everything for the costumer
"Amazon is the most customer-centric company in the world," Eva says enthusiastically. "We have something for every budget. We combine a wide selection of low-priced products with fast, convenient delivery to make our customers' lives easier. Today, my goal is to provide a great customer experience that benefits people in Belgium."

'How to be a great boss'
As Country Manager at Amazon Belgium, Eva is constantly leading her teams and overseeing the company's mission: "I have to oversee the growth and improvement of a very diverse store, and that brings unique and often unexpected challenges. I also need to dare to prioritize what is most important for our customers: low prices every day, fast delivery, and a wide selection. If they are satisfied, I am satisfied," Eva explains.
"I constantly juggle responsibilities and am fully open to the daily challenges that life throws at me. That gives me loads of energy."

Dreamteam
"I am proud of my team, proud of how they shape me and how I believe I shape them. We're all on this journey together, and I find it important that they feel empowered and part of a positive, enthusiastic work environment where they can grow."
"You are as strong as the people around you. Get to know your team and discover how you can enrich each other's thought processes."
"As a female leader and mother of a 4-year-old, I am also a sponsor of Families@Amazon. With this initiative, we work closely with parents returning from parental leave or who need special arrangements to balance work, life, and everything else."

Female leadership
As an advocate of female entrepreneurship, Eva strongly believes in the transformative power of women in senior leadership roles: "I am inspired by Amazon's leadership principles. Concepts like 'Customer Obsession' and 'Hire and develop the best' have helped me the most on my business journey. One of my favorite leadership principles from Amazon is 'Learn and be curious,' something we strongly apply within the company. We truly have a positive culture of trying new things and experimenting to offer our customers the best possible shopping experience."
And what if those experiments fail? "Learn from it and keep trying."
Tip for my younger self
"Go to more festivals! As a Belgian, I'm very passionate about music and festivals, and in my twenties I managed to go to a few editions of Tomorrowland in a row. Now I have to settle for listening to techno while I'm at work."
"Seriously, everything is going to be okay. I definitely struggled with confidence and finding myself when I was younger. I would say to my younger self, find what you like, what gives you energy, get to know yourself and go for it."
